About the Artist
Charles Pierce was born and raised in Idabel, Oklahoma. Charles is a registered artist with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and is also a member of the Paseo Arts Association. He began drawing and painting in high school, and has progressed since then to abstract painting.
Charles believes that art allows him a freedom of expression that he once dreamed of as a boy while watching the red tailed hawks soar overhead on warm summer days. It is hard to separate the artist from the land, which comes through especially in his color palette.
I began my artistic career in high school. After visiting The Mark Rothko Chapel in Houston Texas, I began painting colorful abstract forms. I enjoy the freedom of expression in abstraction.
